OUR MISSION
Researching Finance and the Economy from an Independent Perspective
Global financial and capital markets are shaped by the interaction of many factors, including currencies, interest rates, monetary policy, central banking systems, corporate activity, investment, and cross-border capital flows. At a time when policy decisions and market developments in one country can have far-reaching effects across borders, it is increasingly important to understand not only individual market movements, but also the broader financial and economic system—including the currency frameworks, central banking systems, monetary policies, financial administration, and payment systems that underpin those markets.
Federal Reserve Board Global Co., Ltd. (FRBG) conducts independent research, analysis, assessment, and review of international financial and securities markets, currency systems, central banking systems, monetary policy, financial administration, and other areas of economic activity with significant public impact. Drawing on publicly available information, statistics, market data, laws and regulations, institutional frameworks, and academic and professional research, we continuously examine market and institutional developments, structures, risks, and challenges, and make the resulting insights available to the broader public.
Our work is grounded in verifiable information and objective evidence, independent of the positions or interests of any particular government, political party, central bank, financial institution, corporation, investor, or other organization. Guided by the public interest and the belief that financial and economic activity should contribute to the sustainable development of society as a whole, we seek to advance market stability, fairness, and efficiency, institutional integrity, and greater transparency of information.
Turning Research into Practice
We also apply the expertise developed through our research, together with our domestic and international networks, to practical initiatives. These include institutional design and advisory services related to central banking and currency systems, international financial investment, cross-border M&A, and international business development. FRBG’s role extends beyond sharing research findings with society: we seek to translate those findings into stronger institutions, viable business initiatives, and new forms of economic activity.
Connecting Japan and the World
Japan is home to many valuable assets that remain underrecognized globally, including outstanding companies, technologies, brands, intellectual property, and regional resources. At the same time, markets around the world offer businesses, technologies, capital, and opportunities with significant potential for Japanese companies and investors. FRBG builds networks among companies, investors, financial institutions, researchers, and professionals in Japan and abroad, using financial and institutional research as a foundation for connecting Japan with the world and transforming shared value into sustainable economic activity.
We examine financial markets to understand their underlying structures. We study currencies and central banking systems to analyze the relationship between policy and markets. We assess risks to the financial system and examine institutional challenges, communicating the insights we gain to the broader public. We then connect those insights to institutions, businesses, capital, and international business opportunities.
Our mission is to contribute, from the independent perspective that only a private-sector organization can provide, to building a more stable, fair, and transparent financial and economic environment.
That is the mission of FRBG.
Stable Markets.
Independent Views.
Transparent Institutions.
Public Accountability.
Connecting Japan to Global Opportunities.
